The sale of housing starts in 2011 with a smoking ban increases
The sale of dwellings increased by 19.6% in January over the same month last year to a total of 45,013 operations. Of total operations, 51.5% were performed on residential property and 48.5% used on new buildings, according to the latest National Statistics Institute (INE).
Purchases and sales of homes on year suffer a sharp increase in the first month of the year, in December 2010 were down 1.7%.
